Synopsis: A wunderkind young set designer, Emi has already started to find her way in the competitive Hollywood film world.

Emi is a film buff and a true romantic, but her real-life relationships are a mess. She has desperately gone back to the same girl too many times to mention. But then a mysterious letter from a silver screen legend leads Emi to Ava. Ava is unlike anyone Emi has ever met. She has a tumultuous, not-so-glamorous past, and lives an unconventional life. She's enigmatic...She's beautiful. And she is about to expand Emi's understanding of family, acceptance, and true romance.

Review: This book was absolutely beautiful; from the cover to the writing to the characters. I loved everything about it so much. The fact that it was a story about two girls falling in love with no coming-out angst was amazing. This is a book that every young queer girl - or even older ones - should read as it doesn't make same sex relationships seem different or controversial. This book shows that same-sex relationships are normal and just like straight relationships.

(OK - I'm getting off of my soapbox now)

Aside from the wonderful statement that this book makes, it also a generally amazing book. The characters and the mystery that surrounds Ava is intriguing. But it's the film aspect of this book that I found myself loving the most interested in. The behind-the-scenes peek it gave me was fascinating and I loved how Emi thought about sets. It was really beautiful.

I will warn you that this book is heavy on dialogue and if that is not your cup of tea, then steer clear. If that's not something that bothers you, do yourself a favor and buy yourself this book ASAP - especially if you're a queer girl. Even if you're not, it's an amazing read.
