Genre: YA/Fantasy

Synopsis: Galen is the prince of the Syrena, sent to land to find a girl he's heard can communicate with fish. Emma is on vacation at the beach. When she runs into Galen - literally, ouch! - both teens sense a  connection. But it will take several encounters, including a deadly one with a shark, for Galen to be convinced of Emma's gifts. Now, if he can only convince Emma that she holds the key to his kingdom...

Told from both Emma and Galen's points of view, here is a fish-out-of-water story that sparkles with intrigue, humor, and waves of romance.

Review: One of the only things that Of Poseidon has going for it is that it's a quick read and not very dense. It's perfect for reading on the plane or if you need a last minute boost to your number of books read this year. Other than that, it's not a fantastic book and not something that you should read if you want to get really into a book. It's much more of a superficial read.

The characters are cheesy and over dramatic, especially the main character Emma. It's very obvious that the author doesn't remember what being a teenager was like and made the characters far more hormonal than most teens are. It was like Twilight with mermaids and no love triangle (thank god!), but it did try to hard to be funny and that was mostly cringe worthy.
